Burien filmfest awards Iranian director

Iran’s ‘Mandatory’ wins award at the Burien filmfest in the US.

Iranian short flick ‘Mandatory’ has been awarded at the Burien Film Festival in the US.

The sixth edition of the US film event bestowed its Best Director award upon Mohammad-Javad Khorsha for his 15-minute ‘Mandatory’.

The film is about a soldier in firing squad who has been caught in a dilemma.

Between morality and work responsibility, he does not know which one to pick.

Soheil Karamyar, Soheil Qannadan, Armin Boshrouyeh, and Fatemeh Radmanesh are among the cast members of the flick.

The film has already been screened at a number of global events, including the ifva Awards in China and the Vancouver Island Short Film Festival in Canada.

It is currently on screen at the Charlotte Film Festival in the US.

According to the official website of the event, the BFF was founded in December 2014.

The first edition of the fest accepted films that contained a chase scene of a man in black and an alien.

This year’s edition of the event is scheduled for October 16-18.
